箴言 1:7-19

 1:7 敬畏上主是智慧的開端。愚蠢的人輕視智慧，也不願意學習。 1:8 年輕人哪，要聽從你父親的訓誨，不可忘記你母親的教導。 1:9 他們的教導，像戴上華冠，更顯出你的品格；像帶上項鍊，使你更俊美。 1:10 年輕人哪，如果壞人來勾引你，不要隨從他們。 1:11 如果他們說：「來吧，我們去殺人，找幾個無辜的人打一頓，當作消遣； 1:12 我們要像冥府把他們活生生地吞下，叫健康的人跌進深坑； 1:13 我們會獲得各種財物，屋裏裝滿了搶來的東西。 1:14 一起來幹吧，讓我們分享奪來的贓物。」 1:15 年輕人哪，不要跟從這種人，要遠遠地避開他們。 1:16 他們急著要做壞事，隨時隨地想殺人。 1:17 鳥兒警戒著的時候，你想抓牠是徒然的； 1:18 可是壞人正是為自己張下羅網，要害死自己。 1:19 打家劫舍的人往往自己喪命；以竊奪為生的人所遭遇的正是這樣。

  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. If they say, 'Come along with us; let's lie in wait for someone's blood, let's waylay some harmless soul; let's swallow them alive, like the grave, and whole, like those who go down to the pit; we will get all sorts of valuable things and fill our houses with plunder; throw in your lot with us, and we will share a common purse'- my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into sin, they are swift to shed blood. How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds! These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves! Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.

      『敬畏上主』是基督徒一生為重要知要項，所以我們一定要為此擺上自己，以此為我們一生最重要之事。

      在此也告訴我們『敬畏上主』要如何去做，也就是不要與惡人一同去做惡。這是最基本的方式，也是必要之方式。所以，我們要好好守住這原則，不要受惡人之影響與誘惑。
