耶利米書6:1-3

6:1 便雅憫人哪，你們要逃出耶路撒冷，在提哥亞吹角，在伯‧哈基琳立號旗；因為有災禍與大毀滅從北方張望。

6:2 那秀美嬌嫩的錫安女子（就是指民的意思），我必剪除。

6:3 牧人必引他們的羊群到她那裡，在她周圍支搭帳棚，各在自己所佔之地使羊吃草。

1 Flee for safety, O people of Benjamin,

from the midst of Jerusalem!

Blow the trumpet in Tekoa,

and raise a signal on Beth- haccherem,

for disaster looms out of the north,

and great destruction.

2 The lovely and delicately bred I will destroy,

 the daughter of Zion.

3 Shepherds with their flocks shall come against her;

 they shall pitch their tents around her;

they shall pasture, each in his place.

    耶利米先知在這裡如同一位處境化的神學家，因為他住在便雅憫支派土地中，所以他就對便雅憫人發出預言。要他們注意，有軍隊要從北方來，要做毀害的事情，使他們受到傷害。

    上帝宣告這樣的信息，不是使猶大國的人民感到害怕，而是要他們悔改，歸回上帝！因為人心是悖逆的，也是沉睡與懶惰的，不願意改變的！所以上帝會用強烈的事件來喚醒人，使人可以警醒來跟隨。

    這也提醒講道者，不要將上帝說的不痛不癢，要勇敢地說出上帝迫切的心意，好使人能透過耶穌基督悔改歸向上帝，如此人才會得拯救！
