1:6 錫安城（原文是女子；下同）的威榮全都失去。她的首領像找不著草場的鹿；在追趕的人前無力行走。
1:7 耶路撒冷在困苦窘迫之時，就追想古時一切的樂境。她百姓落在敵人手中，無人救濟；敵人看見，就因她的荒涼嗤笑。
1:8 耶路撒冷大大犯罪，所以成為不潔之物；素來尊敬她的，見她赤露就都藐視她；她自己也歎息退後。
1:9 她的污穢是在衣襟上；她不思想自己的結局，所以非常地敗落，無人安慰她。她說：耶和華啊，求你看我的苦難，因為仇敵誇大。
1:10 敵人伸手，奪取她的美物；她眼見外邦人進入她的聖所─論這外邦人，你曾吩咐不可入你的會中。
1:11 她的民都歎息，尋求食物；他們用美物換糧食，要救性命。他們說：耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我甚是卑賤。
6 From the daughter of Zion
all her majesty has departed.
Her princes have become like deer
that
find no pasture;
they fled without strength
before the pursuer.
7 Jerusalem remembers
in the days of her affliction and wandering
all
the precious things
that were hers from days of old.
When her people fell into the hand of the
foe,
and there was none to help her,
her foes gloated over her;
they mocked at her downfall.
8 Jerusalem sinned grievously;
therefore she became filthy;
all who honored her despise her,
for
they have seen her nakedness;
she herself groans
and turns her face away.
9 Her uncleanness was in her skirts;
she
took no thought of her future;
therefore her fall is terrible;
she
has no comforter.
"O Lord, behold my affliction,
for the enemy has triumphed!"
10 The enemy has stretched out his hands
over all her precious things;
for she has seen the nations
enter her sanctuary,
those whom you forbade
to enter your congregation.
11 All her people groan
as they search for bread;
they trade their treasures for food
to revive their strength.
"Look, O Lord, and see,
for I am despised."

先知哀嘆錫安(耶路撒冷)的敗壞，是因為犯罪而來的，以致失去了上帝的榮華，讓她變得一文不值！
其實這也是警戒基督徒，我們若失去上帝的同在也是如此，也是一文不值！
故此，我們「在至聖的真道上造就自己，在聖靈裡禱告，保守自己常在上帝的愛中，仰望我們主耶穌基督的憐憫，直到永生。」（猶大書20-21)
