哥林多前書14:6-12

14:6 弟兄們，我到你們那裡去，若只說方言，不用啟示，或知識，或預言，或教訓，給你們講解，我與你們有甚麼益處呢？
14:7 就是那有聲無氣的物，或簫，或琴，若發出來的聲音沒有分別，怎能知道所吹所彈的是甚麼呢？
14:8 若吹無定的號聲，誰能預備打仗呢？
14:9 你們也是如此。舌頭若不說容易明白的話，怎能知道所說的是甚麼呢？這就是向空說話了。
14:10 世上的聲音，或者甚多，卻沒有一樣是無意思的。
14:11 我若不明白那聲音的意思，這說話的人必以我為化外之人，我也以他為化外之人。
14:12 你們也是如此，既是切慕屬靈的恩賜，就當求多得造就教會的恩賜。

⁶ Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction? ⁷ Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the pipe or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes? ⁸ Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle? ⁹ So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air. ¹⁰ Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning. ¹¹ If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and the speaker is a foreigner to me. ¹² So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

    保羅論到方言如同無意義的聲音，是無法使人明白的，使用方言是無意義的事情！也因此他質疑方言的造就性，就說：「弟兄們，我到你們那裡去，若只說方言，不用啟示，或知識，或預言，或教訓，給你們講解，我與你們有甚麼益處呢？」

    因此，我們不要高舉方言的恩賜，過於其他的恩賜。也不要動不動就用方言禱告，好像方言禱告必蒙上帝垂聽一般！因為，用方言禱告別人聽不懂，不知如何同心來禱告。

     所以，沒有用方言禱告是可以的，教會不要刻意鼓勵方言禱告，好好鼓勵大家研讀聖經，分享上帝的話，使大家同得造就，必蒙上帝的喜悅和賜福！

哥林多前書14:1-5

14:1 你們要追求愛，也要切慕屬靈的恩賜，其中更要羨慕的，是作先知講道（原文作：是說預言；下同）。
14:2 那說方言的，原不是對人說，乃是對上帝說，因為沒有人聽出來。然而，他在心靈裡卻是講說各樣的奧祕。
14:3 但作先知講道的，是對人說，要造就、安慰、勸勉人。
14:4 說方言的，是造就自己；作先知講道的，乃是造就教會。
14:5 我願意你們都說方言，更願意你們作先知講道；因為說方言的，若不翻出來，使教會被造就，那作先知講道的，就比他強了。

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire gifts of the Spirit, especially prophecy. ² For anyone who speaks in a tongue^[a] does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. ³ But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. ⁴ Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church. ⁵ I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,^[b] but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues,^[c] unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

    保羅在這裡說：「我願意你們都說方言」。許多強調要追求方言恩賜的人，就大大的作文章，只引用這段話，就大吹特吹，保羅都希望大家會說方言，還翻出聖經來告訴大家！

    可是沒想到不翻還好，翻了就「破功」了！為什麼呢？因為後面一句說：「更願意你們作先知講道」。所以，保羅看重的是「先知講道」，不是「說方言」！因衛保羅要我們追求造就教會的恩賜，就是「先知講道」；「說方言」沒有人聽懂，甚至連說的人都不知自己在說什麼，不會造就人，保羅就不鼓勵了！

    保羅在這裡更是說到：「你們要追求愛，也要切慕屬靈的恩賜，其中更要羨慕的，是作先知講道」。雖然保羅在此強調「先知講道」，但沒有禁止「說方言」。只「說方言」是要用在適當的場合，不適合在公眾場合使用。

箴言19:9

作假見證的，不免受罰；吐出謊言的，也必滅亡。

A false witness will not go unpunished,
    and whoever pours out lies will perish.

    第5節是：「作假見證的，必不免受罰；吐出謊言的，終不能逃脫」。兩節很像，但是這節說得更嚴重「也必滅亡」！

    「滅亡」就是永死，永遠與上帝斷絕關係！所以，既然接受耶穌基督為救主，我們就必須遠離虛謊的事，我們要靠耶穌基督的恩典成為誠實的人，承認自己的罪，讓上帝的信實和公義成就在我們身上！因為不認自己得罪，就是把上帝當成說謊的，我們必定滅亡！所以，基督徒的認罪就是誠實之表現！

    這也是說，基督徒若是自以為義，就是「作假見證」和「吐出謊言」，也是嚴重殺死自己的靈命！所以，我們要棄絕自義，領受基督的義，透過認罪與悔改與上帝和好！

箴言19:8

得著智慧的，愛惜生命；保守聰明的，必得好處。

The one who gets wisdom loves life;
    the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

    「智慧」和「聰明」都是從敬畏耶和華來的，也因為如此，必定帶來生命的美好與喜樂。對我們而言，生命的滿足只有上帝能夠給於我們，這就是我們有「智慧」和「聰明」而得的好處。

    人常常忘記尋求上帝，因為照人的本性是無法認識上帝，更是尋找不到上帝。除非上帝來呼召人，使人透過聖靈的啟示，因耶穌基督的十字架，才能看見上帝對人的慈愛與公義，人才會有辦法回應上帝。這時候，人才有「智慧」和「聰明」。

    人惟有透過耶穌基督與上帝建立關係，才會找到人生的意義、生命的喜樂和內心的滿足，如此才會熱愛生命，得著真正得享受與平安！
