Sing, O Daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be
glad and rejoice with all your heart, O Daughter of Jerusalem! The LORD
has taken away your punishment, he has turned back your enemy. The
LORD, the King of Israel, is with you; never again will you fear any
harm. On that day they will say to Jerusalem , ‘Do not fear, O Zion; do
not let your hands hang limp. The LORD your God is with you, he is
mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you
with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.’
Though you have not
seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and
rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
You
heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you. ’ If you
loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father,
for the Father is greater than I.
25 So they went up out of Egypt and came
to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan. 26 They told him, “Joseph is still
alive! In fact, he is ruler of all Egypt.” Jacob was stunned; he did not
believe them. 27 But when they told him everything Joseph had said to them, and
when he saw the carts Joseph had sent to carry him back, the spirit of their
father Jacob revived. 28 And Israel said, “I’m convinced! My son Joseph is
still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”
