7:13 你要察看上帝的作為；因上帝使為曲的，誰能變為直呢？
7:14 遇亨通的日子你當喜樂；遭患難的日子你當思想；因為上帝使這兩樣並列，為的是叫人查不出身後有甚麼事。

what God has done:
Who can straighten
what he has made crooked?
14 When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one
as well as the other.
Therefore, no one can discover
anything about their future.

傳道者在這裡說到人生像波浪一般，有時順境、有時逆境，上帝為了使人能謙卑倚靠祂，不要讓人去確定未來是好還是不好，如此人就不會驕傲，也不會自以為是！
其實人在順境時，不要高興或喜樂的過頭，要想到人生不是時時刻刻都很順遂，要為將來的逆境做準備，以免逆境來的時候，不知所措！同樣在逆境的時候，也不要失志；因為說不定沒多久就轉為順境，所以要心存盼望！
人生之所以豐富與奇妙，就是順境和逆境的交替，如同波浪一般。但是有一件事，我們不可以忘記，就是我們不管如何，都要順從上帝在聖經的教導，活出上帝兒女的榮美喔！
