箴言22:6

教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

    這告訴我們幼童教育的重要性，所以基督教的教育非常看重兒童教育，希望兒童受到信仰教育之後，到老都不會從信仰偏離。

詩篇46:10

你們要休息，要知道我是上帝！我必在外邦中被尊崇，在遍地上也被尊崇。

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;

    I will be exalted among the nations,

    I will be exalted in the earth.”

    這裡的「休息」有放輕鬆的意思，也就是要從容不迫，將自己交託給上帝，看看上帝自己如何動工。這對我們屬上帝的人很重要。

    上帝的名字然會被高舉，尤其是在外邦人當中，因為上帝是全地的上帝。祂也是全能的上帝，祂會自己動工來榮耀自己。我們只管安息在祂大能手下。

帖撒羅尼迦後書1:11-12

1:11 因此，我們常為你們禱告，願我們的上帝看你們配得過所蒙的召，又用大能成就你們一切所羨慕的良善和一切因信心所做的工夫，

1:12 叫我們主耶穌的名在你們身上得榮耀，你們也在他身上得榮耀，都照著我們的上帝並主耶穌基督的恩。

With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    這裡讓我們知道基督徒要「叫我們主耶穌的名在你們身上得榮耀，你們也在他身上得榮耀」，也就是使基督重我們得榮耀，我們也從基督得榮耀。

    而這一切都是上帝的恩典，若不是上帝的恩典，一切都無法實現，也無意義了，人只能滅亡。

帖撒羅尼迦後書1:6-10

1:6 上帝既是公義的，就必將患難報應那加患難給你們的人，

1:7 也必使你們這受患難的人與我們同得平安。那時，主耶穌同他有能力的天使從天上在火焰中顯現，

1:8 要報應那不認識上帝和那不聽從我主耶穌福音的人。

1:9 他們要受刑罰，就是永遠沉淪，離開主的面和他權能的榮光。

1:10 這正是主降臨、要在他聖徒的身上得榮耀、又在一切信的人身上顯為希奇的那日子。我們對你們作的見證，你們也信了。

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

    這裡說道主耶穌再來的日子，信與不信福音之人的不同下場：「得榮耀」和「受刑罰」。你要站在哪一方呢？

    當然你會認為上帝不公平。但是，其實人本來的下場是：「受刑罰」，因為人犯罪。信福音是因為受上帝的恩典，所以才可以「得榮耀」。

    雖然「得榮耀」和「受刑罰」是上帝決定的。但是為甚麼要自取滅亡站立在「受刑罰」這一方，向上帝抗議而自取滅亡。為何不站立在「得榮耀」這一方，存感謝的心領受上帝的救恩呢？

帖撒羅尼迦後書1:3-5

1:3 弟兄們，我們該為你們常常感謝上帝，這本是合宜的；因你們的信心格外增長，並且你們眾人彼此相愛的心也都充足。

1:4 甚至我們在上帝的各教會裡為你們誇口，都因你們在所受的一切逼迫患難中，仍舊存忍耐和信心。

1:5 這正是上帝公義判斷的明證，叫你們可算配得上帝的國；你們就是為這國受苦。

We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.

All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

    在這裡又提到基督徒生活的三要素：信、望、愛。

    因著這三要素，使基督徒可以為上帝國的榮耀而受苦，完成上帝所賦之使命。
