詩篇103:15-19

103:15 至於世人，他的年日如草一樣。他發旺如野地的花，

103:16 經風一吹，便歸無有；它的原處也不再認識它。

103:17 但耶和華的慈愛歸於敬畏他的人，從亙古到永遠；他的公義也歸於子子孫孫─

103:18 就是那些遵守他的約、記念他的訓詞而遵行的人。

103:19 耶和華在天上立定寶座；他的權柄（原文是國）統管萬有。

As for man, his days are like grass;

he flourishes like a flower of the field;

  for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,

and its place knows it no more.

  But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,

and his righteousness to children's children,

  to those who keep his covenant

and remember to do his commandments.

  The LORD has established his throne in the heavens,

and his kingdom rules over all.

    上帝的賜福不是只有一代，而是要到「子子孫孫」。之所以能如此，是因為他和上帝有正確或合宜的關係。而與上帝有合宜或正確關係的人，就是聖經所說的義人，這樣的人是有永生的，並且這樣的應許會歸給他的後代子孫！

    人想要有優秀的子孫，不是要求子孫要怎樣，反倒是自己先要成為一位與上帝有正確或合宜關係的人，自己先敬畏上帝，遵行上帝的話，子子孫孫才會遵行上帝的話成為上帝眼中的義人。

    然而要與上帝有合宜或正確的關係，必須透過信耶穌基督為救主，更感謝的是，耶穌基督更是信實的救主，必救我們和我們的子孫到底的，正如詩人在此所描述的。
