何西阿書7:14-16

7:14 他們並不誠心哀求我，乃在床上呼號；他們為求五穀新酒聚集，仍然悖逆我。

7:15 我雖教導他們，堅固他們的膀臂，他們竟圖謀抗拒我。

7:16 他們歸向，卻不歸向至上者；他們如同翻背的弓。他們的首領必因舌頭的狂傲倒在刀下；這在埃及地必作人的譏笑。

14 They do not cry to me from the heart,

but they wail upon their beds;

for grain and wine they gash themselves;

they rebel against me.

15 Although I trained and strengthened their arms,

yet they devise evil against me.

16 They return, but not upward;

they are like a treacherous bow;

their princes shall fall by the sword

because of the insolence of their tongue.

This shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

    以色列人離棄上帝必遭禍，上帝雖然要救贖以色列人，但以色列人卻對上帝說謊，抗拒背叛上帝。所以上帝要殺死他們的首領，讓埃及人譏笑以色列人的遭遇。

    以色列人對上帝是「躲避」、「背叛」、「說謊」、「虛偽」....，即使有偶爾有「回轉」的舉動，也是轉向強權或巴力，這叫等待贖回以色列民族的耶和華上帝情何以堪呢？

    同樣，我們自稱是基督徒，卻仍然顧人情面、討人喜歡，不怕得罪上帝，行上帝所不喜悅的事，那我們還能蒙上帝賜福嗎？這樣和以色列人的「躲避」、「背叛」、「說謊」、「虛偽」....，有沒有兩樣呢？
