18:1 耶和華對摩西說：
18:2 「你曉諭以色列人說：我是耶和華─你們的上帝。
18:3 你們從前住的埃及地，那裡人的行為，你們不可效法，我要領你們到的迦南地，那裡人的行為也不可效法，也不可照他們的惡俗行。
18:4 你們要遵我的典章，守我的律例，按此而行。我是耶和華─你們的上帝。
18:5 所以，你們要守我的律例典章；人若遵行，就必因此活著。我是耶和華。
18:6 「你們都不可露骨肉之親的下體，親近他們。我是耶和華。
18:7 不可露你母親的下體，羞辱了你父親。她是你的母親，不可露她的下體。
18:8 不可露你繼母的下體；這本是你父親的下體。
18:9 你的姊妹，不拘是異母同父的，是異父同母的，無論是生在家生在外的，都不可露她們的下體。
18:10 不可露你孫女或是外孫女的下體，露了她們的下體就是露了自己的下體。
18:11 你繼母從你父親生的女兒本是你的妹妹，不可露她的下體。
18:12 不可露你姑母的下體；她是你父親的骨肉之親。
18:13 不可露你姨母的下體；她是你母親的骨肉之親。
18:14 不可親近你伯叔之妻，羞辱了你伯叔；她是你的伯叔母。
18:15 不可露你兒婦的下體；她是你兒子的妻，不可露她的下體。
18:16 不可露你弟兄妻子的下體；這本是你弟兄的下體。
18:17 不可露了婦人的下體，又露她女兒的下體，也不可娶她孫女或是外孫女，露她們的下體；她們是骨肉之親，這本是大惡。
18:18 你妻還在的時候，不可另娶她的姊妹作對頭，露她的下體。
18:19 「女人行經不潔淨的時候，不可露她的下體，與她親近。
18:20 不可與鄰舍的妻行淫，玷污自己。
18:21 不可使你的兒女經火歸與摩洛，也不可褻瀆你上帝的名。我是耶和華。
18:22 不可與男人苟合，像與女人一樣；這本是可憎惡的。
18:23 不可與獸淫合，玷污自己。女人也不可站在獸前，與牠淫合；這本是逆性的事。
18:24 「在這一切的事上，你們都不可玷污自己；因為我在你們面前所逐出的列邦，在這一切的事上玷污了自己；
18:25 連地也玷污了，所以我追討那地的罪孽，那地也吐出它的居民。
18:26 故此，你們要守我的律例典章。這一切可憎惡的事，無論是本地人，是寄居在你們中間的外人，都不可行，
18:27 （在你們以先居住那地的人行了這一切可憎惡的事，地就玷污了，）
18:28 免得你們玷污那地的時候，地就把你們吐出，像吐出在你們以先的國民一樣。
18:29 無論甚麼人，行了其中可憎的一件事，必從民中剪除。
18:30 所以，你們要守我所吩咐的，免得你們隨從那些可憎的惡俗，就是在你們以先的人所常行的，以致玷污了自己。我是耶和華─你們的上帝。」
The Lord
said to Moses, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I
am the Lord your God. 3 You
must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as
they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their
practices. 4 You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my
decrees. I am the Lord your God. 5 Keep
my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.
6 “‘No
one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the Lord.
7 “‘Do
not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is
your mother; do not have relations with her.
8 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your father’s wife; that would dishonor your
father.
9 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or
your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.
10 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter;
that would dishonor you.
11 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your
father; she is your sister.
12 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close
relative.
13 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your
mother’s close relative.
14 “‘Do
not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual
relations; she is your aunt.
15 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do
not have relations with her.
16 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your
brother.
17 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. Do not have
sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter;
they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.
18 “‘Do
not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her
while your wife is living.
19 “‘Do
not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her
monthly period.
20 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with
her.
21 “‘Do
not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not
profane the name of your God. I am the Lord.
22 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is
detestable.
23 “‘Do
not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman
must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is
a perversion.
24 “‘Do
not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations
that I am going to drive out before you became defiled. 25 Even
the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out
its inhabitants. 26 But you must keep my decrees and my laws.
The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these
detestable things, 27 for all these things were done by the
people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled. 28 And
if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations
that were before you.
29 “‘Everyone
who does any of these detestable things—such persons must be cut off from their
people. 30 Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the
detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile
yourselves with them. I am the Lord
your God.’”

「性」是上帝給人的禮物，不僅是使人的生命可以一代一代延續下去，更是讓人學習如何和自己的配偶、子女建立家庭生活。因為上帝要讓我們在婚姻的生活中，建立美好的「性關係」。
這也提醒我們，不可以讓性氾濫超過婚姻的關係，尤其是近親更不可以受到情慾的影響，破壞原有的關係體系，畢竟人不是野獸或家畜，是不可以在性關係上混亂，受到上帝的懲罰，造成災禍臨到！
也因為這樣，上帝一開頭就警告：「你曉諭以色列人說：我是耶和華─你們的上帝。你們從前住的埃及地，那裡人的行為，你們不可效法，我要領你們到的迦南地，那裡人的行為也不可效法，也不可照他們的惡俗行。你們要遵我的典章，守我的律例，按此而行。我是耶和華─你們的上帝。所以，你們要守我的律例典章；人若遵行，就必因此活著。我是耶和華。」
若是他們不遵守上帝的誡命，下場就像上帝誡摩西所宣告的，「免得你們玷污那地的時候，地就把你們吐出，像吐出在你們以先的國民一樣。無論甚麼人，行了其中可憎的一件事，必從民中剪除。」
